ENHANCED HOSPITAL-BASED SURVEILLANCE OF DENGUE IN NATIONAL PAEDIATRIC HOSPITAL IN PHNOM PENH

• Project type: surveillance, dengue clinical research, optimization of case management
• Objectives: estimation of dengue incidence, assessment of clinical outcomes
• Outline: systematic enrolment of patients presenting with 1997/2009 WHO case definitions, paired serum collection admission/discharge for serologic and virologic testing, collection of epidemiological and clinical data (admission, hospital stay and discharge)
• Status: As of Dec. 31 2011, 150 patients included, 103 (63%) laboratory-confirmed cases
